For Barbie’s 50th birthday she hopped on her private plane and flew to Paris to visit her new friend Christian Louboutin. A year later she returns thinner than ever and sporting red soled heels…
Although Christian Louboutin is praised for his world renown statuesque heels, he has been recently given a lot of flak by the media and public since word got out that he felt Barbie’s ankles were too big so he had manufacturer Mattel reconstruct a thinner Barbie. People were outraged by this, if Barbie isn’t perfect then who is? Mothers feel that this remodeled version of Barbie will send a caustic message to young girls that aspire to identify with their beloved dolls. This bit of information about Christian Louboutin also lends insight into his idea of the ideal and preferred client. Let’s face it while tall 5’10’’ models that weigh 105 pounds walk up and down the runways in his creations and pose for editorials in them they account for only a minor percentage of his wide customer base. When looking at Barbie’s legs in the above picture it is evident that some reconfiguration has taken place. Despite this shameful proof, my fervor for Christian Louboutin’s shoes has not diminished one bit. I do not have any plans to purchase this Barbie that will sell for $150; I rather put that money towards investing in my soon to be 3rd pair of Christian Louboutin heels. For those of you that need this collectors Barbie in your lives, this Barbie will be made available on December 11 and can be purchased at http://www.net-a-porter.com/ and http://www.fao.com/.

Kanye West: Rapper turned Stylist
He's a producer, he's a rapper, he's as Obama says "An asshole" and now he is a stylist. For October's issue of Elle magazine Kanye West collaborated with professional tennis player turned fashion photographer, Dusan Reljin to create the editorial “Naughty by Nature”. I was shocked to see that Kanye styled his Svedka robot looking girlfriend Amber Rose. The overall layout did not wow me; Kanye had some amazing pieces to work with but did not execute any great ensembles. Click on the link below to get a behind the scenes glimpse of the photo shoot. Be sure to pay close attention to the dynamics between Kanye and Amber.

Broke Man's Birkin
Unless your a trustfund baby, planning to win the lotto or are romancing a ball player this is the closest that many of us will get to owning an Hermes bag. For those of you that have our heart set on owning an Hermes bag within your lifetime this bag will have to do for the meantime. Designer Jessica Cushman Kagan pokes fun at the prestigous IT bag with the creation of her canvas tote. You can find Kagan's accseories at her online boutique http://www.jessicakagancushman.com/ . You know I heard that there is a cult like group of women that collect Birkins. I cant wait until I can join!

Say Hello to the Bad Guys
This is a still image from Jay Z's music video "Roc Boys". Puffy, Jay Z and Nas take on men's evening wear and make it their own.
Animal Insticts
This photo is derived from Steven Misel's spread titled "Law and Order" for W's March 2009 issue. Featured within this spread are Britian's infamous; Daisy Lowe and Peaches Geldof. Stylist Alex White crafted outfits using lots of Louis Vuitton as well as Lanvin, Prada and a sprinkle of Chanel.
Sex and Cigarettes
From the second I saw this photo I was instantly drawn to it. There is something very rich and raw about this image that captures and holds the viewer's attention. Powerful photography encourages you to revist an "eternal moment". I kept reopening the magazine until I finally ripped this image out as well as all the others from this spread and posted them on my bedroom wall.

Biker's Valentine
This was my very first photo shoot. The theme of the shoot was a "Biker's Valentine" I paired delicate silks and laces against raw denim to create a harsh contrast in textures. The cool thing about this shot is that it was the very last shot. I feel the undone and the jeans are unzipped jeans gives the photo character and depth.
