Chanel Bag: Try this at home

Now we can all own a Chanel bag! I came across this genius creation while twittering. I'm encouraging everyone to try this at home.To create this jumbo sized Chanel bag all you need is a large brown paper bag, a black sharpie and a long gold or silver chain depending on your preference. Although, I've been told that gold hardware is more regal looking. I think I'm going to paint my bag cobalt blue.  Now with all the money you've saved you can invest in more important things.

Christian Louboutin: Worth missing Rent

Mr. Red Sole does it again! Blending traditional menswear and punk street-wear Christian Louboutin created  Bobo, the new it shoe. This shoe is perfect for the working lady who wants to spice up her work attire. These booties will look amazing paired with gray suiting to further play up the menswear theme that is being referenced. At $1395 (excluding the tax) this is probably half if not more than most peoples' rent. Is it worth Going Broke for? Of course! Just be sure that when you wear these booties to pack a pair of sneakers in case you have to run from your unpaid land lord. If anything the spacious shoe box can also serve as temporary shelter.

2010 Tuxedo

While everyone else will be tapping into their inner Katy Perry with loads of  sequence and glitter, stand apart from the majority and  bring in  2010 in a snazzy tuxedo inspired look. Don't fret all of my girly girls! A tuxedo ensemble will not make you look... dare I say butch.  If styled correctly the outfit can actually be extremely sexy.

I put my own style twist on the traditional tuxedo concept by pairing a pair of satin harem pants with a satin shawl collared blazer and to make the outfit fun and playful I incorporated a casual heather gray tee and a textured knit hat.

To achieve this look pair black satin skinny or wide leg pants with a tuxedoish blazer or vest.
Suggestions for sexing this look up would be to add a sheer lace top or if your that kind of girl... ditch the blouse and just place double sided taped on the inside of the blazer lapel to keep 'em in place.
Don't forget to finish the look with monster heels.

Is Ugly the new Beautiful?

Feminism has taken the form of a 5’ 1’’ platinum blonde that openly kisses both boys and girls and has a tea cup for a side kick. Lady Gaga along with many other female pop stars are pushing the envelope and are flicking the finger at traditional female archetypes. These femme fetals are using the media as well as their music as platforms to showcase their liberation proving that they can be just as bold and raunchy as one of the boys. This “bad girl” phenomenon is redefining the perception of womanly beauty and sparking Avant Garde fashion trends.

A prize worth buying

Patek Philippe watches, Private Planes and Platinum Blondes; boys will have their toys. A man’s success is not only dictated by the knowledge he possesses, position held within his company or the costly objects he is able to acquire but is sometimes exemplified through the woman in which he is associated with. This is a particular kind of man that believes that having a wife that resembles a doll is an investment worth making and because of this he is willing to use his Black Amex card to finance any shopping spree, Botox injection, or boob job needed to maintain his wife’s status as a Trophy Wife. As these men get older and more successful their wives become trimmer and tanner. This wasteful living is portrayed in December 2009 Harper’s Bazaar editorial “Trophy Wife”. The shriveled sponsor a.k.a “the husband” is played by actor George Hamilton and his “Plastic Barbie” played by model Amber Heard.

Chic Holidays

Tis the season to wear embellishments. Sequins, lace, and intricate bead work are all the rage this Holiday season! Feel free to pair feminine dresses with masculine blazers. To contrast this lace beaded dress I paired it with a slouchy velvet smoking jacket. You can easily make take this look into day by layering a comfy cashmere and pairing with sleek riding boots.

Grey Poupon

Servings
It has been said that you can tell a lot about a man that isn’t afraid to show ankle. The same can be said about this woman. Instantly revamp boring straight leg pants by cuffing them once or twice. To contrast this shrunken suit pair it with an oversized button down. This ensemble can be worn in less conservative work place. Take this look into evening by ditching the button down and replacing it with a seductive silk top. Don’t forget to roll on some Nars lip gloss in Diablo red.
Ingredients
Vest
Oversize button down
Straight leg pants

Skinny belt
 Stilt like heels

Armed and Dangerous

Tap into your in inner Punk and stack on as many pointy objects as possible. While these bracelets work with both polished and casual looks please be sure to leave the razor at home because being charged with weapon possession is not the way to make a fashion statement.

Who needs a to carry a knife when you can just wear a solid brass spiked ring? They can both cause equal damage. Lady Gaga is also seen wearing this ring from nOir jewlery in  her video Paparazzi. The ring  retails for $75 and can be purchased from nOir's online boutique http://noirjewelry.com. The site warns you to wear at your own risk.

Christian Louboutin Dressing Barbie and Offending Many

For Barbie’s 50th birthday she hopped on her private plane and flew to Paris to visit her new friend Christian Louboutin. A year later she returns thinner than ever and sporting red soled heels…
Although Christian Louboutin is praised for his world renown statuesque heels, he has been recently given a lot of flak by the media and public since word got out that he felt Barbie’s ankles were too big so he had manufacturer Mattel reconstruct a thinner Barbie. People were outraged by this, if Barbie isn’t perfect then who is? Mothers feel that this remodeled version of Barbie will send a caustic message to young girls that aspire to identify with their beloved dolls. This bit of information about Christian Louboutin also lends insight into his idea of the ideal and preferred client. Let’s face it while tall 5’10’’ models that weigh 105 pounds walk up and down the runways in his creations and pose for editorials in them they account for only a minor percentage of his wide customer base. When looking at Barbie’s legs in the above picture it is evident that some reconfiguration has taken place. Despite this shameful proof, my fervor for Christian Louboutin’s shoes has not diminished one bit. I do not have any plans to purchase this Barbie that will sell for $150; I rather put that money towards investing in my soon to be 3rd pair of Christian Louboutin heels. For those of you that need this collectors Barbie in your lives, this Barbie will be made available on December 11 and can be purchased at http://www.net-a-porter.com/ and http://www.fao.com/.

Kanye West: Rapper turned Stylist

He's a producer, he's a rapper, he's as Obama says "An asshole" and now he is a stylist. For October's issue of  Elle magazine Kanye West collaborated with professional tennis player turned fashion photographer, Dusan Reljin to create the editorial “Naughty by Nature”. I was shocked to see that Kanye styled his Svedka robot looking girlfriend Amber Rose. The overall layout did not wow me; Kanye had some amazing pieces to work with but did not execute any great ensembles. Click on the link below to get a behind the scenes glimpse of the photo shoot. Be sure to pay close attention to the dynamics between Kanye and Amber.

Its not a bag, its a Birkin

Broke Man's Birkin

Unless your a trustfund baby, planning to win the lotto or are romancing a ball player this is the closest that many of us will get to owning an Hermes bag. For those of you that have our heart set on owning an Hermes bag within your lifetime this bag will have to do for the meantime. Designer Jessica Cushman Kagan pokes fun at the prestigous IT bag with the creation of her canvas tote. You can find Kagan's accseories at her online boutique http://www.jessicakagancushman.com/ . You know I heard that there is a cult like group of women that collect Birkins. I cant wait until I can join!

Say Hello to the Bad Guys

This  is a still image from Jay Z's music video "Roc Boys". Puffy, Jay Z and Nas take on men's evening wear and make it their own.

Animal Insticts

This photo is derived from Steven Misel's spread titled "Law and Order" for W's March 2009 issue. Featured within this spread are Britian's infamous; Daisy Lowe and Peaches Geldof. Stylist Alex White crafted outfits using lots of Louis Vuitton as well as Lanvin, Prada and a sprinkle of Chanel.

Sex and Cigarettes

From the second I saw this photo I was instantly drawn to it. There is something very rich and raw about this image that captures and holds the viewer's attention. Powerful photography encourages you to revist an "eternal moment". I kept reopening the magazine until I finally ripped this image out as well as all the others from this spread and posted them on my bedroom wall.

Biker's Valentine

This was my very first photo shoot. The theme of the shoot was a "Biker's Valentine" I paired delicate silks and laces against raw denim to create a harsh contrast in textures. The cool thing about this shot is that it was the very last shot. I feel the  undone and the jeans are unzipped jeans gives the photo character and depth.
